I’m not one to overdo decorating for holidays. We do not put up a Christmas tree, I don’t string lights. Honestly, I like bringing a little of the holiday into our home but only in a very muted fashion.
The most decorating I do, actually, is for the military or patriotic holidays.
With the Redneck having served in both the US Army and the Air Force, I try to honor his service. I find that more worthy of time to “show off” than any other holiday. So pretty much from Memorial Day to Labor Day (or until I need to winterize outside), our yard is a plethora of patriotism.
With that being said, I’m trying to do just a little bit for every holiday just to try to keep us in that mood. Valentine’s Day seems like a decent holiday to celebrate, especially since it’s the first year we are celebrating it as a married couple.
I have always loved subway art. I think it stems from my love of words and letters. I am so much more of a reader, with a pretty large vocabulary. Give me a set of numbers and I think my 6 year old great-niece could do better with them.
So I thought about all the words and phrases on those cute Conversation Hearts (which they aren’t making this year, and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to miss them) and put them all together to make this wonderful art piece.

I created this printable in color, but then thought to myself, “Hey! This would be fun to color!” So I created all of the colored printables for you (the larger sizes you may need to have printed away from home) in 8″x10″, 11″x14″, and 16″x20″.
The coloring page versions are made in only the 8″x10″ and 11″x14″.

Here is my own colored version on our mantel. I love how it turned out. I actually got a little out of the norm and used gel pens to color. I just happened to have a wider array of colors available in them, and I thought
